Former CARIFTA Stars At South Plains Ready For Outdoors

Jura Levy, the 19-year-old, 2009 CARIFTA Under-20 women’s 200m champion from Jamaica, is confident about this outdoor season. She is in her first year at South Plains College in Texas, where she has run 7.49 secs in the 55m indoor. The Vere Technical High School (Vere Tech) graduate, with a (high school) personal best 11.41 secs in the 100m and 23.20 secs in the 200m outdoor, has been adjusting well in Texas. And there’s Grenadian native Rondell Bartholomew, who went to South Plains on a mission. Clocking a personal best 21.09 secs in the 200m and 45.58 secs in the 400m outdoor, the 20-year-old freshman is ready for a rewarding 2010 outdoor season. Full Story »
