Barbados 100m Hurdles Champion: “There’s More to Come”

Kierre Beckles, the 21-yr-old Barbados women’s national 100m hurdles record holder is on a mission this season. The Pineland native, a junior at the University of South Carolina, broke her compatriot Andrea Blackett’s 6-yr-old record of 13.39secs in 2009 as an 18-yr-old student at Central Arizona College (Central Arizona), setting the new mark at 13.25. Alabama’s Kim Laing Eyes All-American Status at NCAAs

“I am very excited about going to Eugene,” said Kim Laing, the University of Alabama (Alabama) graduate student.  “I have never been to Oregon and I have a good chance of being an All-American if I can only finish in the top eight.” Eugene, Oregon is the site for the 2010 NCAA Championships that began yesterday and end June 12.
