Dwight Mullings: Exciting Season Ahead

Dwight Mullings, the 23-year-old Jamaican quarter-miler, knows what it feels like not to be ready to let opportunity in. He believes his own negligence cost him the opportunity to book a spot on the Jamaican team to the 2009 Berlin World Championships. Danny Mac Reflects on Berlin and More

(Sept 6, 2009): Jamaica’s Danny McFarlane finished 6th in the 400m hurdles in Berlin in 48.65 secs. However, he has a personal best 48.00 in the event. The 37-yr-old McFarlane, who has been to four World Championships as a hurdler, took time out of his preparation for the IAAF/VTB Bank World Athletics Final in Greece on September 12 & 13 to talk to Caribbean TrackLife (CTL).

Veteran Hurdler Still Going Strong

July 15, 2009): He’s strong, determined and focused. At 37, he’s a veteran on the Jamaican team for the 2009 World Championships in August. After ruling the roost as the island’s premier 400m hurdler, this season Danny McFarlane has been playing second fiddle to Isa Phillips, the new national champion. Nonetheless, he's is still in  the game and commands a place among the world’s leading 400m hurdlers.
Despite passing the mantle to Isa, Danny McFarlane is ready to take on the world in the one-lap event next month. Full Story »

Sinclair & Company Set Penns on Fire

After getting the baton some five meters behind American Hazel Clark in The USA vs. The World Women' s Sprint Medley relay at the 2009 Penn Relays, Jamaica' s Kenia Sinclair settled into her strides and bided her time before making her familiar crucial move. On the second lap of her 800 meters leg, she kicked at the right time and sprinted away from Clark, widening the gap as she streaked to victory in a new Penn Relays record and world best time of 3.34.56 secs.
