A protest by The Bahamas over the Under-20 Boys 100m final Saturday evening at the Carifta Games in Bermuda resulted in the disqualification yesterday of Jamaica's Jevaughn Minzie for picking the start. Minzie had a bullet start, which the Bahamians saw as jumping the gun. He was run down by his compatriot and favorite Jazeel Murphy, who took the gold in 10.31. Bahamian Shane Jones took bronze in 10.41 behind Minzie (10.33). Their second runner, Jonathon Farquharson, was disqualified earlier for a false start
Minzie's disqualification was based on a video replay since sensor blocks were not used to determind whether the athlete
picked the start or went with the gun.
Jones' medal was uprgaded to silver.
