Under pressure from Jamaica’s Nesta Carter, American Tyson Gay won his third consecutive Samsung Diamond League 100m with a 9.79 (+ 0.1mps wind) run, just shy of his 2010 world leading time of 9.78 set in London earlier this month. Full Story »

Yohan Blake continued his meteor rise in world class sprinting with an impressive 9.89 secs (-0.4 m/s) personal best (PB) performance in the 100m at the London Diamond League meet yesterday. Blake, the 20-year-old 2006 IAAF World Juniors 100m bronze medalist, came from behind the pack to finish second place to a red-hot Tyson Gay of the US, who took the event in a season best, meet record and world-leading 9.78. Yesterday, the future looked even brighter for Jamaica, the sprint factory, as three of its nationals swept the top three spots in the 100m at the Paris Diamond League. Usain Bolt led the charge with 9.84 secs, ahead of Asafa Powell (9.91 secs) and Yohan Blake (9.95 secs. Full Story »)
