US Dominates London Diamond League Day 2

Day 2 of the 2010 London Diamond League on August 14 was dominated by US athletes, highlighted by victories by Allyson Felix in the 200m (22.37) and 400m (50.79), Wallace Spearman in the 200m (20.12), Marshevet Myers in the 100m (11.01), Bershawn Jackson in the 400m hurdles (48.12), Dwight Phillips in the long jump (8.18m), Jeremy Wariner in the 400m (44.67) and the red-hot David Oliver in the 110m hurdles (13.06). Reese Hoffa in the shot put (21.44m) and Bernard Lagat in the 5000m 7.40.36 were also in the winners circle. However, several Caribbean athletes performed well. Full Story »

Mothersill, Green Set CAC Games Records

Twenty-three-year-old Leford Green won the men’s 400m hurdles for Jamaica yesterday in a new Games record 48.47 secs ahead of Puerto Rico’s Javier Culson (48.58) and fellow Jamaican countryman Roxroy Cato (49.62). Full Story »

Caribbean Stars Light Up Paris Sky

NACAC Championships for Miramar July 9 to 11

The City of Miramar in Florida will be buzzing July 9 to 11, when an unprecedented showing of some 500 athletes from 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) compete in the Under 23 Track and Field Championships at the Ansin Sports Complex.

Under the auspices of the IAAF (International Amateur Athletics Federation) and the USATF (USA Track & Field), the Championships will see athletes representing Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, the Netherland Antilles, Nicaragua, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, the USA, and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Events to be contested include Javelin, Long Jump, Discus Throw, Shot Put, High Jump, Pole Vault, Hammer Throw, various distance races and hurdles.
