Febuary 5 and 6, 2011 are dates the girls indoor track and field team of Medgar Evers Prep High School of Brooklyn, New York will not forget anytime soon. The Lady Cougars, as they are referred to, just could not be caged as they went on a rampage at the New Balance Collegiate Meet at The Armory Track in New York and, in the process, destroyed the New York State 4x200m record of 1:38.39, set in 2001 by A. For the first time in the history of U.S. high school track and field, the best athletes from the country’s East and West coasts will compete against one another on the same track, when they meet at the New Balance National Indoor Championships at the Armory in New York City, March 11 – 13, 2011.
